Setup & Connection

To communicate with a Karotz, follow the steps below.

  • First of all, you need to go to FreeRabbits to update your Karotz system and set its parameters. This is currently the best way to revive your Karotz.
  • Then go to http://[ip-address-of-your-karotz]/install to install extra functions and the Free Rabbits TimeButton software to use the Appz.
  • Then return to the controller and go to Preferences to add your Karotz, which you have just updated
    • The IP corresponds to its address on your local network - e.g. 192.168.1.100
  • Finally, to play mp3 streams on the Karotz (and more), you need to install/upload these python scripts in the /usr/www/cgi-bin directory by connecting to your Karotz via ftp.
    Don't forget to modify the execution attributes of these scripts with the command "chmod 755 ears.py led.py photo.py stream.py runapp.py tts_voicerss.py "
  • And then update the tts_voicerss.py script with your own apikey

FreeRabbits

FreeRabbits OS is a new operating system for your Karotz.

It is based on the latest version of the Violet/Mindscape Root-filesystem 12.07.19.00

Pour communiquer et jouer avec votre Karotz, vous devez suivre les étapes suivantes.

  • Tout d'abord, il faut se rendre sur FreeRabbits pour mettre à jour le système du Karotz et le paramétrer. C'est actuellement la meilleure solution pour faire revivre son Karotz.
  • Ensuite se rendre sur http://[adresse-ip-de-votre-karotz]/install pour installer des functions supplémentaires et notamment l'application Free Rabbits TimeButton.
  • Puis, revenir dans le contrôleur et se rendre dans la rubrique Préférences pour y ajouter votre Karotz que vous venez de mettre à jour :
    • L'IP correspond à son adresse sur votre réseau local - ex: 192.168.1.100
  • Enfin, pour jouer des flux mp3 et synthétiser la voix sur le Karotz (et plus encore), vous devez installer/charger ces scripts python dans le répertoire /usr/www/cgi-bin en vous connectant par ftp sur votre Karotz.
    N'oubliez pas de modifier les attributs d'exécution de ces scripts avec la commande "chmod 755 ears.py led.py photo.py stream.py runapp.py tts_voicerss.py"
  • Mettez à jour, la clé api avec la vôtre dans le script tts-voicerss.py

FreeRabbits OS est un nouveau système d'exploitation pour votre Karotz.

Il se base sur la dernière version du Root-filesystem de Violet/Mindscape 12.07.19.00
